Tisal Thulu - the Broken Land - is the name given to the whole of the area shown in the map above, but takes its name primarily from the events that occurred in the right-hand circle. It is called Tisal Thulu by the Sage Sanas and other learned folk who are familliar with the stories of the Great Turnings, or Great Foldings - the tumultuous periods of transition between the primary rule of one god to another. During the last transition, Gilmesh threw down Hennubeth into the Hennugwosh (meaning Birth of Hennu), from which she arose to smite him and cast him westward into the depths of Mulmuut (see notes in Lore and Pantheon).
